About Kid's Cup Rochester

The 2009 year's plans for the funds raised is:

  • Pediatric Simulator: This high tech piece of equipment will help train people working in the hospital to respond to pediatric emergencies.
  • White Board Installation in Pediatric Areas: This is going to be a very nice communication tool that will literally be used for every patient in the children's hospital general care areas and intensive care unit.
  • Bereavement Baskets: Unfortunately some of our patients do pass away and these bereavement baskets will be filled with items to help families cope with the loss of a child. They include memory making projects (like hand print molding materials) along with resources for parents/siblings in times of loss.
  • "I See You Too" (Patient Sibling's Project): The smallest and most fragile of our patients are admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Many of these tiny babies have to stay in the hospital for months and many have older siblings that will be coming/going from the hospital with parents frequently. This project is to provide a kit of welcoming/orientation type materials that are age-appropriate for the older siblings of our NICU patients.

The main sponsor of this event is Mark and Sheryl Tasler of Express Employment Professionals. Without their commitment to this event, none of this would have been possible. Their sponsorship paid for all the green fees, carts, jackets, golf balls and towels along with the donation of many of the prizes. Their commitment is what allows 100% of the funds raised to go directly to Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital and Gillette Children's Hospital.

A special thank you to Mary Anne Nonne and Clear Channel for being part of our committee. Through their efforts and support, I think most people in SE MN know about the Kid's Cup through the many radio spots they have provided on the different radio stations. Thank you so much for all your support, we're sure your efforts helped our golfers with their pledges.
